Child Custody Lawyer
The care and control of your children is the primary concern after a separation. The prevailing consideration behind this decision is always the best interests of the child.
Our lawyers encourage constructive dialog and discussion between parents as you may have to deal with each other for years to come. Goldstone Lawyers Professional Corporation will work closely with you and the other party to decide all relevant family law issues pertaining to your children, namely:
- Child custody: with whom your children will reside, and which parent will have authority to make major decisions concerning the children’s life such as their health, education, and religion
- Access: physical time the non-custodial parent spends with the children to maintain an emotional bond
What are the different types of custody arrangements?
Sole custody: One parent is responsible for making all major decisions regarding the child and the child resides mostly with this parent. The other parent has access to the child.
Joint custody: Both parents have the right to make major decisions regarding the child’s life. The child may reside equally with both parents or primarily with one parent.
Split custody: In cases involving more than one child, one parent has sole custody of one or more children and the other parent has sole custody of the remaining siblings.
Our firm understands the complexities involved with children in the court proceedings. Addressing the care and upbringing of your children may be an emotional experience for both parents. Goldstone Lawyers will use their expertise to resolve issues of custody and access as quickly and amicably as possible.
